Open Call for Workshop Reviewers
The Workshop Development Committee (WDC) is once again coordinating updates of the URISA Workshops scheduled for delivery at GIS Pro 2012 in Portland, Oregon. In an extensive program to update the workshop material and encourage new ideas and topics, the WDC hopes to revamp all workshops with fresh information and new ideas to help keep members updated on current technologies.
The WDC is asking for your help to become peer reviewers to help ensure the material is as crisp and insightful as the URISA membership deserves. Workshop authors have been asked to submit their workshop to a peer review committee. This is an open call to anyone interested in serving on a workshop peer review committee for one of the workshops presented at GIS Pro 2012. Reviews are expected to take 5-10 hours of each volunteer's time and will occur during the month of May and throughout the summer months, with the culmination being the presentation of workshops at GIS Pro in Portland on October 1, 2012. As a reviewer, you can earn GISP points towards certification or renewal as contribution towards the profession.
If you have professional or academic expertise in any of the workshop subjects listed below, you are encouraged to volunteer by sending an email to URISA Education Manager, Jeni Griffith at URISA Headquarters (jgriffith@urisa.org) by April 23rd, 2012.
