GIS Analyst
Description: GIS Analyst - one-year contract
You will provide GIS services and support in all aspects of the City’s information systems, implement and maintain detailed corporate data sets (mapping, databases, and models) using standard GIS and CAD software and procedures, research data holdings (both spatial and textural), and perform detailed clean-up, standardization, and normalization. While ensuring rigorous quality control, you will support the maintenance, development, and implementation of GIS-based databases, applications, and online services and be responsible for IMS (Internet Mapping Services) elements. You will also facilitate application linkage to various databases and ensure standardized user input and Meta Data creation.
Your degree in GIS/computer science or the equivalent is complemented by a minimum of three years of experience with municipal GIS and advanced CAD systems, knowledge of database concepts, and a valid Ontario driver’s licence. Preference will be given to those with municipal experience in Manifold and/or Autodesk GIS products and SQL Server databases. Annual salary: $49,995
