GIS Specialist
Description: Cardno ENTRIX is seeking a well-qualified geospatial professional to work in our Concord office with a multidisciplinary team of accomplished biologists, ecologists, toxicologists, environmental scientists, engineers, economists and planners on a variety of natural resource projects throughout the United States.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Spatial data processing
• Map making
• Manual cartography and other GIS production tasks
• Metadata generation
Basic Qualifications:
• BS degree or higher in geography; or related physical or social science
• Knowledge of principles, practices and applications of geography, cartography and GIS systems, GPS principles and CAD
• Two to three years of relevant experience working with ESRI’s ArcGIS
• Knowledge or experience with standard GPS data collection/processing/management
• Basic knowledge and experience with CAD software (preferably AutoCAD) and data interoperability between CAD and GIS
• Basic understanding of, and a willingness to learn, environmental science and natural resource management
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & Access
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
