GIS Manager

The primary goal of the GIS Manager is to assist others in the company to present spatial data effectively. This requires researching, analyzing, and presenting spatial data. The GIS Manager must work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast paced work environment.

This full time position will assist with spatial analysis and presentation regarding, but not limited to, the acquisition, development, and disposal of shopping centers. The GIS Manager will assist in performing demographic and psychographic trade area analysis and creating maps using ESRI software for all clients within the company that have map analysis needs. Must be able to add graphic information to aerial images and create components for site packages. Other duties include assisting in research of traffic counts, store locations, competitor locations, and general demographic data. Must also be capable of handling multiple assignments simultaneously, working with minimal supervision, attention to detail, dependable, with a positive “can do” attitude and have a concept of the real estate industry. The GIS Manager will also be responsible for presenting sites and shopping centers in different formats including Good Earth and/or ESRI Globe.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience working in a PC based computer network environment
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and Internet
  • Strong GIS skills
  • Understanding of and/or willing to learn math and statistical analysis
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Genuinely excited and enthusiastic about learning and pushing technical limits/finding new solutions
  • Good writing skills - for documentation, training, processes
  • Formal training (eg. Degree) or high level of experience with GIS.
  • The ability to think and solve problems
  • Good IT technical skills
  • A basic understanding of the concepts behind data management in a relational database
  • Good analytical/problem solving skills
  • Hands-on experience

  • Ability to work within the budget limits of the organization
  • Creative and committed to ongoing learning


Qualifications:

  • College Degree required
  • Knowledge of the real estate industry preferred
  • ESRI GIS experience required
