Responsibilities

Maintain the GIS Website, developing and editing functionality as needed
Develop custom applications in ArcGIS and ArcIMS: Develop logical models; block diagrams and logic flow charts; translate detailed design into computer software; test, debug, and refine the computer software to produce the required product; prepare required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation; enhance software to reduce operating time and/or improve efficiency
Geodatabase administration
Automation of data backup, conversion, and updates for web/FTP server
Assist and resolve day-to-day issues for website users
Attend various meetings, training courses, conferences, and workshops
Perform additional duties and assignments as requested

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Demonstrated experience with ESRI products, v. 9.0 or newer, is preferred
Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio
Desired experience: Microsoft Studio.Net, Microsoft SQL Server, VB.NET, Visual Basic 6.0/for Applications/Script, ArcXML, GPS equipment/software/data, ArcGIS Enterprise Server
Ability to develop applications in ArcGIS using ArcObjects (preferred), Avenue, or MapObjects
ArcSDE/Geodatabase model experience, SQL-based preferred
ArcIMS site development and maintenance
Experience in web programming and design – HTML or Javascript; ASP and XML experience a plus
Proactive and comprehensive troubleshooting and problem solving skills; self-motivated learner who continually keeps up to date with new technology; experience in public sector assignments preferred; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal English language proficiency
