Summary: This position is responsible for creating maps, verifying data, working with the public in the map room and maintaining the database.
Produces, maintains, and updates county maps, zoning maps and custom maps. Assists in creating, editing, and maintaining parcel and infra-structure data in the county’s GIS System. Identifies and locates property, reads/researches deeds, tax maps, zoning maps, or other records to determine location of property. Assists in assigning map numbers, assembles maps, and makes mylars and copies of maps. Assists in map room such as assignment of addresses, creation of filing systems, or reading of maps, deeds, preliminary plats, and final plats. Provides information and assistance to the public, other county offices and other individuals regarding mapping issues, GIS operations, and 911 addressing. Provides information, researches complaints and problems and initiates problem resolution. Researches problems involving deeds, maps, addresses or other issues. Obtains, enters, saves, and scans Engineering drawings as as-built. Prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, maps, master street files, E911 forms or other documents. Performs general clerical tasks which may include answering phone calls, typing documents, making copies, sending and receiving faxes, and filing documentation. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience: High school diploma or GED supplemented by one (1) year previous experience and/or training involving geographical information system (GIS) operations, mapping, drafting, street addressing, and personal computer operations.
Required Certificates/Licenses: Valid Driver’s License is required. A+ Certification Desired.
Salary: $25,788 - $30,946 DOQ
