Planner/GIS Specialist
Description: Proactive regional planning agency serving 43 community planning district in western Massachusetts is seeking a qualified, experienced Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Specialist to support agency wide data and GIS needs. The successful candidate must be: experienced with geographic information systems and spatial data; proficient in data collection and management; innovative and a reliable problem solver; and demonstrate effective task management/communication skills.
Position requires minimum of a bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science or related field plus 3 to 5 years of relevant experience with GIS applications utilizing ESRI software including ArcServer. Preference will be given to technically qualified applicants who also are adept at working with geodatabases, ESRI tools and extensions and area wide planning functions.
Starting salary $45,000 to $55,000 per year depending on qualifications and experience.
