2010 CGIA Awards Nominations - **Nominations are due March 19th, 2010**
The California Geographic Information Association annually recognizes outstanding achievements in various aspects of GIS through an awards program. The awards will be presented at the 2010 CalGIS Conference in Huntington Beach, April 18 - 21, 2010. Click here to submit your nomination.

Monday Keynote
Evangelist for WeoGeo (http://www.weogeo.com), James Fee, GISP, is widely regarded as a leader in the field of geospatial and web-based mapping technologies. At WeoGeo, James has been responsible for helping organizations organize, share and monetize their geo-content.  He blogs about geospatial technology at http://www.spatiallyadjusted.com/ and has helped develop an online GIS community culminating in Planet Geospatial (http://www.planetgs.com). He is a frequent keynoter at GIS conferences around the world as well as an advisor on many technology panels. He also is a regular columnist for GeoInformatics Magazine.

 

Eric Waldman, GeoSpatial Specialist - Bing Maps - Microsoft Corp. - just announced as Wednesday keynote speaker

Having started with a BA in Environmental Design from UC Berkeley, Eric Waldman has 25+ years of experience in GIS & Mapping industry with a strong background in Remote Sensing, 3D Visualization and Web Mapping Services.  His background includes: Managing Sales/Marketing at Hitachi Software Engineering, Western Regional Manager at Space Imaging, Vice President Photon Research, Sr Director GlobeXplorer, and for the last 4 years as GeoSpatial Specialist with the Bing Maps team in Microsoft Corp.

Conference Registration

  • Full Conference Registration: $300
    Full Registration includes access to the Exhibit Hall and all educational sessions, including the Tuesday Homeland Security Summit sessions, Monday Networking Reception, Tuesday Lunch and Evening Activity, and Wednesday Lunch.

  • Full Conference Registration - Student Rate: $75 (must provide current schedule showing full-time student status)
    Includes access to the Exhibit Hall and all educational sessions, including the Tuesday Homeland Security Summit sessions, Monday Networking Reception, Tuesday Lunch and Evening Activity, and Wednesday Lunch.

  • Preconference workshop fee: $150 

  • Daily registration rates: Monday ($150); Tuesday ($150); Wednesday ($100)
    Daily Registration includes access to all educational sessions and events presented on that particular day and access to the Exhibit Hall.

  • Homeland Security Summit one-day registration: Tuesday ($100) - allows access to HS track sessions and exhibits

Free Exhibit Hall Pass - if you are unable to attend the conference to take advantage of the educational program, training and events, you may still register - at no cost - to gain access to the Exhibits at CalGIS. Note that this registration only allows access to the exhibit hall and you will be provided with a name badge designated as Exhibits Only to grant entry. This registration category is only available with this downloadable form.

Cancellation & Refund Policy: All cancellations must be received in writing (via fax, e-mail or regular mail) at URISA Headquarters on or before March 28, 2010, in order to receive a refund, less a $50 processing fee. After March 28, 2010, cancelled registrations will not be refunded nor applied to future conferences. There will be a $50 administrative fee for the swapping of Registrants.
