URISA is pleased to announce the completion of the Sixth Caribbean GIS Conference which took place November 12-16, 2012 at the Hilton Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The conference began with training courses and workshops. The conference included important keynote speeches, dozens of concurrent sessions on valuable topics, valuable time with exhibitors, and a high-level meeting focused on geospatial information management in the Caribbean. The first ever Ignite session was also presented during the conference, which will certainly be a conference mainstay in the future. Of course, there was also informal time to strengthen professional connections and friendships!
Thank you to all of the speakers who shared information and ideas, to the exhibitors and sponsors who supported the conference, and to the delegates who brought their interests and varied perspectives to the conference ... combining to make the conference a valuable experience for all!
