The 15th Annual Conference for Professionals in Property Assessment, Tax Administration, Mapping and Information Technology
The International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) and the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA) are pleased to announce the 15th GIS/CAMA (Geographic Information Systems / Computer-Assisted Mass Appraisal) Technologies Conference, to be held February 28 - March 3, 2011 at the Memphis Peabody in Tennessee.
Abstract Submissions Due October 4, 2010
The conference program is developed with submissions received through the Call for Presentations. Presentation suggestions within these general program topics are sought:
The following items must be explicitly addressed for an abstract submission to be considered:
a) Basic Theme: The presentation description must convey the basic theme of the presentation. Does it address the technical or management aspect of the subject?
b) Value of the Subject: Your proposal should indicate which audience segment would be most interested in your presentation (i.e., elected officials, technicians, managers, etc.) and what will be learned from the presentation.
c) New or Innovative Information: The presentation should focus on new insights and lessons learned.
Please note that:
a) Presentations that market specific products and services will not be accepted, nor are presentations of this nature acceptable at the conference. (There are vendor workshops for exhibitors.)
b) Case histories should be presented by the sponsoring organization, not by vendors.
c) Presentation descriptions should conform to format specifications and be error-free.
d) All abstract submissions are due on or before October 4, 2010.
e) If accepted, expect to provide a full paper for publication in the Conference Proceedings during the 2011 conference.
f) All accepted presenters must register and pay the standard conference registration fee.
Indicate the presentation format that is best suited for your proposal.
Single presentation—individual presentation that will be scheduled with one or two other presentations to form a cohesive session of 90 minutes in length. Each presenter is allotted 20-30 minutes, plus 10 minutes for questions from the attendees.
Complete session—comprised of three individual presentations, SUBMITTED TOGETHER, with a common theme. A complete session is 90 minutes in length.
Panel—90-minute presentation that encourages interaction and discussion between the panelists and the attendees. Panel presentations should include at least three panelists all speaking on different aspects of a particular topic.
Presenters whose proposals are accepted are expected to submit written papers for publication in the Conference Proceedings. If PowerPoint or slide presentations are submitted for inclusion in the Proceedings, a narrative description must accompany them. The final version of your presentation is due on the day it is presented to attendees at the conference. It can be provided on CD Rom or by thumb drive transfer on site at the conference.
All accepted presenters must register and pay the standard conference registration fee.
