GIS-Pro 2010 Conference Highlights - Positive Energy and Valuable Education!

September 28-October 1, 2010
Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek
Orlando, Florida

Hopefully, you were able to join us in Orlando for GIS-Pro 2010! The post-conference 'buzz' is still  positive and the energy level is already building for GIS-Pro 2011 in Indianapolis. Get us on your calendar early (November 1-4, 2011).

We've tried to capture the conference highlights through pictures taken by Sail Forth Productions (thank you Phil & Stephanie!), URISA staff members and volunteers. When you have some free time, take a moment to scroll through...

All of our sponsors and exhibitors are listed below. We thank them for their generosity and support!

On Monday, the URISA Board of Directors met for a full-day business meeting and then joined up with URISA Chapter Leaders who had spent the afternoon discussing chapter activities in the Chapter Leaders' Forum. Good stuff!

Earlier that day, a couple dozen attendees took advantage of the opportunity to learn about asset and facilities management at Epcot with a URISA workshop in the afternoon.

On Tuesday, Workshop Day, about one-third of the conference attendees enrolled in a full-day course to delve deep into topics to help with their jobs, advance their professional development. The workshops on the schedule this year included:

  • Field Automation Options for Local Government
  • Overview of Open Source GIS Software
  • Addressing and IS/GIS: Keys to Success
  • GIS Program Management
  • Introduction to AGILE: Project Management & Development
  • Introduction to Public Participation GIS (PPGIS)

Frivolity ensued with the introduction of URISA's Geospatial Ignite Event that evening. Click here for a review and photos... know that we'll definitely be doing this in Indy next year! Prepare to join in the fun!
