GIS-Pro was pleased to welcome Microsoft's Johannes Kebeck, as our Technology Keynote Speaker. Johannes will present on Wednesday, October 3 from 1:30 - 2:30 PM.
“Demystifying the Cloud – a company agnostic view of Cloud platforms and offerings”
Demystifying the Cloud will include all the big players such as Google, Amazon, Sales Force & Microsoft. We compare and contrast the various offerings by their industry definitions (SaaS, IaaS & PaaS). We will also call out services which run on each and how there are structured and utilized. This is an overview session and is not intended to be deeply technical.
Following this presentation; you will be familiar with the various Cloud offerings from the largest vendors and have a much better idea of what sort of workload should run in what sort of Cloud.

Johannes is a Technology Specialist for Microsoft’s Windows Azure based out of Redmond, WA. He has more than a decade of experience in the GI/GIS market. In October 2004 Johannes joined Microsoft in Germany working within the Enterprise & Partner Group and in 2005 he joined the Bing Maps team in the UK. Before specializing on Microsoft’s geospatial products and services, he had experience with various GIS, spatial databases, relational database management systems, workflow management, collaboration products and IT security.
