New Practices and Tools for High Accuracy/High Precision GIS Parcel Mapping

This panel session will be moderated by Peter Croswell and will include selected users and representatives of private GIS product and service firms who will discuss developments and capabilities for improved GIS-based parcel mapping. Two related topics will provide the focus for this panel:

1. Advances in GIS data architecture and tools that support accurate parcel boundary capture and management using survey data
2. Issue, methods, and tools for enhancing the accuracy of parcel boundaries--using higher accuracy sources (recovered survey monuments, high-resolution orthoimagery, survey data) to improve the positional accuracy of existing GIS parcel databases

Mr. Croswell will introduce session topics and panel participants. Each participant will be given approximately 5 minutes to make observations about one or both of the topics. Following these comments, the floor will be open for an interactive discussion with session attendees.
