The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG), the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area, is seeking a senior level Transportation Operations Professional to assist the agency’s Transportation Department with its Transportation Systems Management (TSM)/Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects.
Position will focus on the management of information systems and coordinating projects involving multiple agencies and jurisdictions. Responsibilities include coordinating with public-sector partners and overseeing consultant activities on a region-wide program of traffic signal and intersection improvements along intercity corridors; coordinating and managing regional ITS initiatives; overseeing the regional ITS architecture; managing and enhancing the regional ITS data archive project; coordinating the development of regional ITS integration software and the deployment of the regional ITS network; developing strategies for the Metropolitan Transportation Plan; evaluating effectiveness of programs and projects through regional and corridor level analysis; and tracking the implementation of TSM and ITS projects in the Transportation Improvement Program. Duties also include developing work scopes, strategies, budgets, schedules, and documentation; monitoring expenditures; delivering presentations; and supervising staff.
Work requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering or closely related field of study with coursework involving analytical and quantitative methods, and a minimum of three years’ experience in the field. Supervisor experience is also required.
