URISA is always looking for new instructors to help us make our educational events more widely available to members, non-members and organizations.
Each nominee will be reviewed and approved by the URISA Workshop Development Committee. If you have questions about becoming an instructor or would like to submit your resume and statement for review, please contact Education Manager, Jennifer Griffith, at jgriffith@urisa.org.
In order to begin the Instructor Certification process, you must have attended your preferred workshop as a participant.
Workshop Instructor Criteria:
URISA International Member in good standing.
A current curriculum vitae (C.V.) or résumé on file at URISA.
Bachelor's Degree of equivalent
Practical experience related to the workshop topic(s).
Publications in URISA workshop field of interest.
Participation in URISA, GIS/LIS or similar conferences as session speaker or panelist in workshop field of interest.
Prior workshop experience in URISA or related group, association, institution.
Favourable evaluations if previously an instructor in URISA conference workshops, or if "mentored" by a URISA-accredited instructor at a non-conference workshop.
GISP Certification recommended, but not required.
Written statement detailing how your personal and professional experience qualifies you to be an instructor of your desired workshop topic.
