The design and deployment of geographic information systems for entire organizations is presented in "Enterprise GIS". Many issues that enterprise organizations must resolve are discussed in this book. Benefits ranging from elimination of process steps to improved services for the public are analyzed. Concepts of interoperability and data warehousing are detailed. Two examples, one public agency and one of a private agency, give details on enterprise GIS implementation starting with conceptual design.
