GIS in Public Works
GIS in Public Works
By Howard Rosen
URISA recognized the immense relevance of GIS to the field of public works. This compendium includes many of the papers presented at the first two URISA GIS in Public Works Conferences. These papers were selected because they were considered to of particular interest to city and county public works practitioners. They are divided into five sections: 1) Adopting an Integrated Approach; 2) Local Implementation of GIS; 3) Specific Public Works Applications; 4) Technical Issues; and 5) Utilities. Overall, the compendium contains almost 20 papers. The majority have been updated by their original authors for inclusion within this compendium. These revised papers guarantee that the book is both current and cutting edge.
