The Polis Center (Polis) at IUPUI works with communities in Indiana and beyond to develop and apply knowledge, to build collaborations, and to find innovative solutions to common problems. Polis seeks a candidate to fill the position of GIS Analyst for the university center.

Successful candidates will have in-depth knowledge of GIS concepts and methods. The analyst will work with clients to establish application needs and priorities and manage the design, programming, development, testing, and implementation of complex GIS applications and models. Academic and/or professional experience in the application of GIS in the earth sciences, hazard modeling, social sciences, or humanities is highly desirable.

The analyst will support the Polis Professional Education and Outreach Department through design of curriculum for a wide variety of clients and provide course instruction and other education and outreach related activities at locations throughout the United States and beyond. Approximately 25-50% of time may be spent in overnight travel in support of activities related to this position. Compensation at hire is negotiable.

Required skills include: ESRI software, MS Access, Oracle or SQL Server RDBMS database skills.

Minimum qualifications: Masters degree required; Graduate work past Masters degree is preferred. Two years experience is required; 5 years\' preferred.
