Registration

Regular Rate (if registered after October 16, 2009)

  • Full Registration:
    URISA Member - $350
    Non-Members - $375

Pre-Conference Workshops: $195

Cancellation & Refund Policy: All cancellations must be received in writing (via fax, e-mail or regular mail) at URISA Headquarters on or before October 30, 2009, in order to receive a refund, less a $50 processing fee. After October 30, 2009, canceled registrations will not be refunded nor applied to future conferences. There will be a $50 administrative fee for the swapping of Registrants.

Full Conference Registration includes: access to all sessions and the exhibit hall, conference proceedings, Tuesday luncheon, networking reception and social event. (Workshop registration is an additional fee.)

Note: All accepted presenters must register and pay the regular conference registration fee. Acceptance as a presenter does not register you for the conference - registration fees are required.

The 2009 GIS in Transit Conference will be held at the Hilton Bayfront in the waterfront district of downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. A special room rate of $129 Single/Double has been negotiated for conference attendees.

Because the deadline date has passed, IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THE CONFERENCE RATE, you must send an email to Ann-Marie at the Hilton Bayfront with your arrival and departure dates and your contact information. Include this in your subject field please: Reservation Request for GIS in Transit conference.

Downtown St. Petersburg is home to many of the finest cultural attractions in Florida, all conveniently located just outside the hotel's front doors:

Getting There

Directions to the Hotel - From Interstate 275, take Exit 22: Interstate 175, which is the same exit as that for the Bayfront Center. At fourth traffic light turn left onto 1st Street S. Hotel two blocks on left.

There are two local airports that serve the area.

Tampa International Airport (TPA)

  • Distance from hotel: 22 miles
  • Approximate fare to and from the airport: Super Shuttle-$20 USD; Taxi - $40 USD

St. Petersburg-Clearwater International (PIE)

  • Distance from hotel: 15 miles
  • Approximate fare to and from the airport: Taxi - $30 USD

Climate

St. Petersburg enjoys a pleasant climate in November with an average high temperature of 78 degrees F and a low of 61 degrees F.

St. Pete/Clearwater is where you want to be! Close to everything, yet miles away. A beautiful peninsula located on Florida's West coast, the area is bordered by the Gulf of Mexico to the west and by Tampa Bay to the east.

Within minutes of many popular Florida attractions: just 30 minutes to Busch Gardens in Tampa and 90 minutes to Walt Disney World Resort, Sea World and Universal Studios Escape in Orlando.
