In this first session, a baseline of knowledge is set for the rest of the Academy. We'll discuss various aspects about management and leadership in the workplace and the challenges many leaders face day-to-day. Areas that are to be covered and discussed include:

- How do the best leadership practices fit into the GIS world?

Leadership Styles
- Everyone is different. Are you an Authoritarian Leader? Participative? Delegative?

Challenges for Leaders
- What are the ethics in leadership? What management skills & techniques equip you to be an effective leader?
