ULA Schedule

Registration at the ULA includes a toolkit and ample materials and handouts, daily continental breakfasts (Monday through Friday), daily hosted luncheons (Monday through Friday), a networking reception (Monday evening), and a number of optional informal evening networking events with your fellow participants and faculty.... in addition to a certificate of completion presented on Friday afternoon.

Wednesday, May 15
Session 3: Building Organizational Capacity as GIS Leaders

  • Understanding how to build capacity and sustain it in the GIS organization
  • How to assess the current situation within the GIS organization and plan the move to a target situation
  • Capacity building strategies to justify and ‘sell’ your GIS program
  • Tips to ensure on-going success

Thursday afternoon and Friday, May 17
Session 5:  Putting It All Together:  Evaluating Where You Are and Planning Where You’re Going

  • Developing your personal leadership vision and plan

On Friday afternoon, the ULA features a Keynote Address. We are pleased to announce that Michael A. Amezquita, Chief Appraiser of the Bexar Appraisal District (San Antonio, TX) will be our keynote speaker. His experiences in helping to turn around the Appraisal District, including leadership styles and management techniques is certain to be a highlight of the ULA.

A "Graduation Ceremony" completes the program on Friday afternoon. Each participant will receive a signed certificate of completion. Note that Friday's program content should be completed by 3 PM to assist with travel arrangements.
