Each year, URISA invests considerable resources in the development and production of URISA Certified Workshops. The workshops span a wide variety of topics that have been produced, tested, and improved during URISA sponsored events. Two Simple Ways to Bring Quality Education to Your Area

Option 1: License and Run URISA Certified Workshops

Run a URISA certified workshop on your own. Choose your own facilities, timing, and location or hold a workshop in conjunction with a regional conference. Provide your conference attendees with the opportunity to expand their horizons even further while attending your conference. Your target market is already there, in a setting designed for the exchange of ideas and information. Sponsor a URISA Certified Workshop before or after your conference. Attendees will be sure to take advantage of this bonus educational experience. Literature can be mailed with your program. URISA will provide the workbook masters, materials and instructor listing. You select instructors from the listing, pay all expenses and keep all net revenues. We bring the education to your doorstep.

Option 2: Host a URISA Professional Development Program in your area (Option 2)

In need of a special conference for your office, chapter or region? URISA will run your meeting for you, from arranging and providing facilities, instructors and workbooks to promotional literature and registration. URISA will take care of everything and provide an informative and lively workshop, as part of URISA's Professional Development Program. URISA assumes all financial risks and you provide members with access to high quality education at the local level.

Option 1

URISA Chapter
$500 per workshop
$400 each for three or more workshops at one time
Non-URISA Entities
$1,000 per workshop

Option 2

No fees to sponsoring organization. URISA sets and collects fees from attendees. Minimum attendance guarantee required.

HOW IT WORKS

The sponsoring group representative contacts URISA Headquarters three months to one year prior to the proposed course to discuss the following:

• Format
• Topics
• Instructors
• Financial arrangements
• Dates
• Production of workbook and other materials
• Letter of agreement

In order to achieve educational excellence, special attention is paid to every component of the course. You will be provided materials and instructions detailing every aspect of the event to ensure that participants have the HIGHEST quality educational experience possible.

INSTRUCTORS

In order to ensure that instructors are properly qualified to present workshops and to satisfy the conditions attached to a Certificate process, a set of criteria and performance standards have been adopted. Since the significance of criteria/standards may vary by workshop topic, various combinations of the criteria and standards are used.

The instructor base is populated by highly qualified, accredited instructors who are government employees, academicians, and consultants. At least one instructor from the instructor base should teach URISA workshops. Local co-instructors may be included on the program to cultivate the instructor base for future use.
