More than 80,000 volunteer hours; more than 300 missions launched; nearly 3,000 volunteer positions filled.
URISA's GISCorps has provided volunteer GIS expertise for communities in need worldwide since it was first adopted as a URISA program nearly twenty years ago. GISCorps volunteers have supported humanitarian relief, disaster response, conservation, environmental quality, health and human services, GIS education, and expert crowdsourcing. The program runs on volunteer passion, enthusiasm, and energy and needs your support.
GISCorps' impact is summed up by #GISforGood. Consider these recent highlights:
Typically, we host a Silent Auction to raise funds to support URISA's GISCorps during the annual GIS-Pro conference. This year, the conference was virtual and we did not have enough capacity to pull off a virtual silent auction. So, like everything else this year, we've pivoted! From GIS Day 2020 (November 18) through Giving Tuesday (December 1), individuals who donate $30 or more to support GISCorps will receive a mask to promote your health and safety and show your support for #GISforGood.
